The American Hospital, which is under the roof of the Vehbi Koç Foundation, offers quality-oriented health services by bringing together the most up-to-date technologies with its 100 years of knowledge and experience. The hospital, which communicates transparently with its patients, provides safe and quality patient care and treatment, questions and develops its systems, supports its leading position in the health sector with international quality certificates.

In this direction, it implements "Continuous Quality Improvement Programs" in order to provide medical care at international standards and quality to its patients. It is the first private hospital in Turkey to have all four Joint Commission International (JCI), ISO 9001: Quality Certificate, ISO 14001: Environmental Management System and ISO 27001: Information Security Management System certificates.
 

The American Hospital maintains the title of “accredited hospital” with the JCI Accreditation Certificate it received in 2002 and undergoes periodic inspections to renew it.

Koç University Hospital became operational as Koç University's training and research hospital in September 2014.

Genetic Diagnosis, IVF and Adult Bone Marrow centers at the hospital in 2016; In 2017, Gamma Knife (Radiosurgery), Cosmetic Dermatology, Underwater Medicine and Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment centers started accepting patients, and the first phase of RMK AIMES was put into service. As of 2019, the hospital has increased its capacity to 410 single inpatient rooms, 55 intensive care units and 44 chemotherapy units in total. More than 32,200 operations were performed in 14 operating rooms.

 

Since its inception, Koç University Hospital has provided inpatient services to approximately 51,000 people, of which 49,600 are international patients, and outpatient services to 834,000 people.

The architectural design of Koç University Hospital reflects the approach to patient care and treatment. In accordance with the transparency principle adopted, glass has been widely used in interior design, provided that the privacy of the patients is protected. Due to the emphasis placed on research, the research laboratories are located at the center of the hospital complex. In addition, spatial distinctions between disciplines and departments were avoided, thus, it was aimed to establish a holistic system that complements, questions and acts in a team spirit in clinical practices.
